Maternity

Shared antenatal care and postnatal checks, by appointment only, on Tuesday afternoons.

Contraception

By appointment with one of the doctors or practice nurses. Coil fittings by appointment. Coil checks by appointment with the practice nurses.

Health Promotion: Practice Nurses

We are actively engaged in health education and disease prevention and are always happy to discuss this with you. In particular we can arrange: primary prevention - eg advice on smoking, diet, exercise and immunisations.

Screening - eg blood pressure checks, cholesterol estimations, cervical smears.

Special attention given to patients with asthma, hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease.

The following clinics are held once each month:

CHD Clinic Obesity

Queries for the above clinics should be addressed to Elaine or Lisa who also invites and books appointments for patients.

Joint Injection Clinic

This is held once a month by appointment and is administered by a GP for those with chronic joint pains.

Minor Surgery

All approved minor surgery as well as rheumatological procedures are carried out on the premises by prior appointment only.

Child Health Clinics

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (1.00 - 3.00pm drop-in): Routine immunisations, weighing and an opportunity to see the health visitor or doctor for advice about the progress of your child.

Development checks - by appointment only.

Baby changing and breast feeding facilities are available. Indoor and outdoor play facilities are provided.

Immunisation

Adult immunisations by appointment with practice nurses.

Facilities for the Elderly and the Disabled

The consulting areas including the disabled toilet are on the ground floor and are accessible by wheelchair. Collection of all samples may be carried out at home or at the surgery whenever necessary.

Over 75 Checks

If you are aged 75 and over you are entitled to a routine health check. Our practice nurse will contact you to arrange this if you are unable to come to the surgery. Three year reviews and annual reviews for the over 75s are available on request.
